Easter Egg Draws.

Our annual Paddock Wood Lions Easter Eggs draws are currently being held in many local Pubs and Restaurants. Proceeds go to local and Lions charities and the charities of the choice of the pubs taking part. Draws for the Giant Easter Eggs will take place over the Easter weekend. Thanks to all those taking part.

Christmas Sleigh Fundraising

Paddock Wood Lions and Lionesses will be organising Santa and his helpers for the annual Christmas Sleigh fundraising in and around Paddock Wood. Proceeds go to local worthy causes and Lions projects.

The 2009 Sleigh Fund-raising Programme is as follows:

  • Fri 11 December – Paddock Wood, Green Lane and the Finches
  • Sat 12 December – Paddock Wood, Tutsham Way
  • Sun 13 December – East Peckham
  • Fri 18 December – Five Oak Green
  • Sat 19 December – Paddock Wood, Warrington Road
  • Sun 20 December – Paddock Wood, Allington Road
  • Mon 21 December – Paddock Wood Station

We will also be fund-raising with the Sleigh at Mascalls Christmas Fair on Sat 28 November, Paddock Wood Primary School Christmas Fair on 5 December, at Waitrose on 12 December and at Barsleys on 19 December.

Dictionaries for Primary School Leavers.

The Club has donated dictionaries to primary school leavers in our local area. In all 315 of the dictionaries were presented to year 6 pupils from Paddock Wood, Brenchley and Matfield, Collier Street, East Peckham, Yalding, Marden, Horsmonden and Laddingford Primary Schools.

Carnival a Big Success

The colourful procession through Paddock Wood on 11th July marked the opening of the Annual Carnival event where thousands turned out to join the fun. Please see our Carnival Page for more information about the event.

More than £3000 was raised from the event which our club will use for our local welfare projects.

The planning all now now starts again for next years event which is on Saturday 10th July 2010!

Paddock Wood Carnival 2009 – 11th July.

Paddock Wood Carnival is this Saturday 11th July, from 12:00 noon on St Andrews Field.

This year the Carnival features Jez Avery with his Motorcycle and Mountain Bike Combination Show, plus performances by the Royal British Legion Band and Corp of Drums from Romford and the Weald of Kent Gymnastics Club.

The procession gets under way at 1:00pm and features floats, various majorette groups and walking groups from local organisations.

All the usual attractions will also be there including Topper the Clown, Punch and Judy, Reptile tent, crockery smashing, various fund raising stalls and games, the Horticultural Show and all the fun of Shaw’s Fun Fair.

Paddock Wood Lions have been organising the Carnival on behalf of the Town Council for over 25 years, and each year a wide variety of local worthy causes, both individuals and groups in our community , benefit in a variety of ways from the funds raised on Carnival day.
