Each summer the huge Carnival weekend , split over 2 days and held in St Andrew\u2019s Field in Paddock Wood. Again this year, \u2018Rockin\u2019 in the Rec\u2019<\/strong> which is a live music event held on a big stage will be on Saturday evening (July 11th<\/strong>). We have a mix of bands and singers and invite everyone to bring their picnic chairs and blankets plus all the family to sit and enjoy this free event. We provide food stalls and a bar for refreshments. This hugely popular event started in 2018 and has been one of our most well received \u2013 for its simplicity and relaxed family atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Carnival is on Sunday, July 12th<\/strong> Early on Sunday morning, you will find Lions on the field erecting marquees, setting out the arena and directing stallholders. Our biggest event of the year and running for over 30 years, the Carnival Parade and Fete attracts over 2,000 people from far and wide. We have a huge collection of stallholders, events in the arena throughout the day (which can involve participation), Shaw\u2019s funfair and a range of food and beverage providers. There is something for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parade leaves Eldon Way at 12pm and makes its way down the high street and up Church road to the field. There are usually over 200 participants, all dressed up according to the theme for that year and competing to sing the loudest. Previous themes have included: musicals, films, circus, carnival, Disney, music through the decades and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So 2026 Rockin in the Rec will be on July 11th, whilst the Carnival will be on July 12th – put the dates in your diary.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We need more to take part – could it be you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, this year we’re looking for more to partake… so put on your thinking caps and think what you might do to make this the best Parade in Paddock Wood ever!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heres a few ideas that might spark an idea……….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter a group with your neighbours or friends<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join with your work colleagues<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publicise your club, sporting or otherwise<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publicise your business<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Show your interesting vehicle<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hire (or even make) a costume and enter as an individual (or perhaps with a friend?)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

or if your feeling really adventurous just walk on stilts!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

…. and by the way, its free to enter!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
